What general pest control covers
General pest control is the routine treatment that keeps common household invaders from settling in. For Southern Utah homes that means ants, cockroaches, earwigs and silverfish, plus spiders and scorpions. Spider and scorpion treatment is included with pest control service. Rodents and weeds are handled separately because they call for different methods.

Ants

Cockroaches
Roaches look for warmth, moisture and food, which means kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms. Read more about cockroach control.
Earwigs and silverfish
Both like damp, sheltered spots. Earwigs often show up near irrigated landscaping and door thresholds. Silverfish tend to hide in bathrooms, closets and storage areas. We treat the pests and point out the damp spots that keep drawing them.
Spiders and scorpions

Why a desert home still gets pests
St. George averages roughly 8.8 inches of rain a year and about 60 afternoons over 100°F. That can make it seem like pests are not an issue here. Around homes, though, irrigated landscaping, watered lawns and a cooled house give pests water and shelter that the surrounding desert may not. When heat peaks in summer or monsoon storms arrive, pests move toward those comforts.
